What is the pitch of a screw thread?

• The distance between two corresponding points of the same helix, it is the displacement along the axis per revolution.
• The pitch is indicated in millimeters for metric threads, for English threads this is indicated in the number of turns per inch.

Operation:

• To measure thread pitch, simply match one of the serrated blades on the gauge to the threaded portion of your workpiece.
• The narrow profile of each blade allows you to use the gauge for both internal and external thread pitches on 60° or 55° angled threads.
